My name's David, and I am definitely a unique character...I've been described as "something else," "100% different from anybody I've ever met," and "weird," among other things. I am a nerd/dork/geek/whatever you want to call it. I'm a self-proclaimed "cuddle slut." I'm addicted to the Texas Rennaissance Festival (TRF), and that happens to be the place that I have met the love of my life...where else would I meet have met her, right? So my heart and soul belong to Heather Tippy. I belong in the city, and I despise Monroe. I am only here until I have enough money saved to move to Austin.. I'm originally from Longview, Texas, and I don't exactly fit in in this area. Half of my family is British, so that just kind of adds to the oddness that is me. But I'm a quirky, kindhearted, intelligent guy. If I warm up to you, I will talk you to death. I love to have intelligent conversation, and I love to find out about new stuff. I also like to be random and just have humorous conversations that don't really go anywhere! I talk too much around people I'm comfortable with, and not at all around people I don't know. Music completes me, and I surround myself in music as much as possible. I like to watch movies and cartoons, but other than that, I don't really watch much television. (But I do recommend Dexter on Showtime, and Naruto and Bleach on Cartoon Network/YouTube.com) I don't really go out a whole lot...I've tired of the bar/club scene around here, so I'm just waiting till I move to get back into that. I am currently working full time with DirecTV sales. I plan to begin a career and a real life in Austin sometime July or August of 2007.

Some friends and I are hopefully coming out to TRF on first weekend this Friday...only problem is finding a ride out there, we are still working on that. Hopefully things pan out and we can be there!!! I need it!!! I will be without Valerie from now on, as she broke up with me 2 or 3 months ago and did me pretty badly, so I'm finally recovering from heartache and ready to get out of Louisiana and enjoy some Naughtyham and faire!! Hopefully you people will want to meet up with me and hang out!
Many people know of me that I
believe Global Warming is cyclical, meaning it is a natural course of
Earth heating from CO2 and then cooling from it's own ability to heal.
Many people do not agree. Let's ask the 6th graders, shall we? Read
on...
By Ben Ready The Daily Times-Call
LONGMONT
— Humans don't cause global warming, a jury of sixth graders at Trail
Ridge Middle School concluded Thursday after hearing opposing arguments
from their peers.
"They're pretty young for this kind of thinking. They did
great," paleontology teacher Ken Poppe said after the 40-minute "trial"
in his classroom.
With Earth's warming accepted as a tenet, pre-teen "lawyers" and "scientists" debated whether humans have caused it.
Eleven jurors listened intently as prosecutors and defendants
flashed contradictory graphs tracking global temperatures, carbon
dioxide levels, polar ice cap statistics, volcanic activity and sea
surface temperatures — all of which were found Wednesday in the
school's computer lab.
"The earth has warmed and cooled over many years. If it's
caused by CO2, why haven't the charts shot up?" Poppe's son and lead
prosecutor Caleb argued during a rebuttal.
In a climax that sent half the class to its feet and forced the
judge to call for order, opponent Monique Nem slapped a contradictory
graph onto the prosecution's table.
"We've proven you wrong! The CO2 levels have shot up," she said.
The jury responded more warmly, however, to Caleb Poppe's
response: The graphic cited a Hawaiian source; Hawaii has volcanoes;
volcanoes emit CO2.
In closing arguments, Alexia Hegy said global temperatures
actually decreased in the 1960's, while the global population rose.
Humans cannot be at fault, she concluded.
With the final word, defense attorney Sarah Steed countered: "It
all comes back to us, the people — not the sun, not the weather. We
need to turn off lights when we don't need them. Bikes can work. The
environment can be richer."
Seven of 11 jurors decided humans are not to blame, but everyone agreed classroom debates make for fun learning.
"It was a hard decision, because both sides made good points," said student Samantha Roberts.
Ken Poppe said he let students choose which side of the debate
to argue. Poppe personally believes global warming is cyclical and not
affected by humans, while his Colorado State University student aide
David Richards believes the opposite. Both, however, said they
presented both sides equally to the students leading up to Thursday's
debate.
"What I think is not the issue. It's what the students dig up and how they present the case," Poppe said.
Only one parent questioned Poppe's decision to hold a global
warming debate. That mother expected him to present Al Gore's global
warming movie "An Inconvenient Truth" as indisputable facts, Poppe
said. After he explained his neutrality in the classroom, the mom
allowed her child to participate in the debate, he said.
"You don't understand someone's position until you can argue it
to their satisfaction," Poppe said, quoting a famous physicist. "I
don't believe in Darwinism either, but I can argue it as well as any
Darwinist."
Many of you may know that I do not believe whatsoever in Global Warming. On MySpace, I'm constantly posting blogs showing proof of this. Here's one I thought I'd share with you here on RenSpace:
1. Myth: Planet earth is currently undergoing global warming
Fact: Accurate and representative temperature measurements from satellites and balloons show that the planet has cooled significantly in the last two or three years, losing in only 18 months 15% of the claimed warming which took over 100 years to appear — that warming was only one degree fahrenheit (half of one degree Celsius) anyway, and part of this is a systematic error from groundstation readings which are inflated due to the 'urban heat island effect' i.e. local heat retention due to urban sprawl, not global warming...and it is these, 'false high' ground readings which are then programmed into the disreputable climate models, which live up to the GIGO acronym — garbage in, garbage out.
2. Myth: Even slight temperature rises are disastrous, ice caps will melt, people will die
Fact: In the UK, every mild winter saves 20,000 cold-related deaths, and scaled up over northern Europe mild winters save hundreds of thousands of lives each year, also parts of ice caps are melting yet other parts are thickening but this isn't reported as much (home experiment: put some water in a jug or bowl, add a layer of ice cubes and mark the level — wait until the ice has melted and look again, the level will have fallen). Data from ice core samples shows that in the past, temperatures have risen by ten times the current rise, and fallen again, in the space of a human lifetime.
3. Myth: Carbon Dioxide levels in our atmosphere at the moment are unprecedented (high).
Fact: Atmospheric carbon dioxide levels, currently only 350 parts per million have been over 18 times higher in the past at a time when cars, factories and power stations did not exist — levels rise and fall without mankind's help.
4. Myth: Mankind is pumping out carbon dioxide at a prodigious rate.
Fact: 96.5% of all carbon dioxide emissions are from natural sources, mankind is responsible for only 3.5%, with 0.6% coming from fuel to move vehicles, and about 1% from fuel to heat buildings. Yet vehicle fuel (petrol) is taxed at 300% while fuel to heat buildings is taxed at 5% even though buildings emit nearly twice as much carbon dioxide!
5. Myth: Carbon dioxide changes in the atmosphere cause temperature changes on the earth.
Fact: A report in the journal 'Science' in January of this year showed using information from ice cores with high time resolution that since the last ice age, every time when the temperature and carbon dioxide levels have shifted, the carbon dioxide change happened AFTER the temperature change, so that man-made global warming theory has put effect before cause — this shows that reducing carbon dioxide emissions is a futile King Canute exercise! What's more, both water vapour and methane are far more powerful greenhouse gases than carbon dioxide but they are ignored
6. Myth: Reducing car use will cut carbon dioxide levels and save the planet.
Fact: The planet does not need saving, but taking this on anyway, removing every car from every road in every country overnight would NOT produce any change in the carbon dioxide level of the atmosphere, as can be seen using the numbers from Fact 4, and in any case it is pointless trying to alter climate by changing carbon dioxide levels as the cause and effect is the other way round — it is changes in the activity of the Sun that cause temperature changes on earth, with any temperature rise causing carbon dioxide to de-gas from the oceans.
7. Myth: The recent wet weather and flooding was caused by mankind through 'global warming'
Fact: Extreme weather correlates with the cycle of solar activity, not carbon dioxide emissions or political elections, the recent heavy rainfall in winter and spring is a perfect example of this — it occurred at solar maximum at a time when solar maxima are very intense — this pattern may well repeat every 11 years until about 2045.
8. Myth: The climate change levy, petrol duty, CO2 car tax and workplace parking charges are justifiable environmental taxes.
Fact: As carbon dioxide emissions from cars and factories does not have any measurable impact on climate, these taxes are 'just another tax' on enterprise and mobility, and have no real green credentials.
9. Myth: Scientists on the Inter-governmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) issue reports that say 'global warming' is real and that we must do something now.
Fact: Scientists draft reports for the IPCC, but the IPCC are bureaucrats appointed by governments, in fact many scientists who contribute to the reports disagree with the 'spin' that the IPCC and media put on their findings. The latest report suggests that the next 100 years might see a temperature change of 6 Celsius yet a Lead Author for the IPCC (Dr John Christy UAH/NASA) has pointed out that the scenarios with the fastest warming rates were added to the report at a late stage, at the request of a few governments — in other words the scientists were told what to do by politicians.
10. Myth: There are only a tiny handful of maverick scientists who dispute that man-made global warming theory is true.
Fact: There are nearly 18,000 signatures from scientists worldwide on a petition called The Oregon Petition which says that there is no evidence for man-made global warming theory nor for any impact from mankind's activities on climate.
Many scientists believe that the Kyoto agreement is a total waste of time and one of the biggest political scams ever perpetrated on the public ... as H L Mencken said "the fundamental aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed, and hence clamorous to be led to safety, by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary" ... the desire to save the world usually fronts a desire to rule it.
